Nobody remembers Alexis Appleton used to be famous. Today she's just a homeless gutter punk with a stolen guitar and a dream of rock-n-roll stardom. That dream comes true when her music dazzles a big-shot concert promoter who promises to put her in his epic arena show. But a misfired champagne cork to the nose puts an abrupt end to Alexis's celebration. And her life.
Alexis manifests as an invisible ghost, which is a pretty serious handicap to rocking out. Even worse, she gets attacked by a monster straight out of a rerun of That's My Boo. Remember that show? The sitcom with the tween sorceress who fought paranormal monsters? Alexis remembers it. She played the tween sorceress.
Scared beyond rational thought, Alexis shouts her old TV catchphrase spell at the monster. And the monster explodes. Before she can even wipe off the guts, she's ambushed by three ghosts: a medieval prince, an Old West cowboy, and a Cold-War-era Russian gymnast. They claim Alexis's incredible powers are the only thing that can stop a worldwide apocalypse of poltergeist monsters.
Wait. Hold up. Stop. Alexis can't have real magic. She's not some heroic "chosen one." She's just a has-been actress and a wannabe musician. But when she realizes her unexplained powers might bring her back to life in time for the concert, Alexis leads the ghosts on a madcap adventure to uncover the secrets of her TV magic. Oh, and maybe do that whole save-the-world thing, too.
